2008 ABNC Ode Field Trip Schedule 

Saturday May 10. Dragonflies and Butterflies 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Join Dave Small, Chris Buelow, and Lula Field as we explore wetlands and watercourses in the Hardwick-Petersham area for spring dragonflies and Butterflies. Special attention will be made to locate sites for Boghaunters and other rare dragonflies. Bring your lunch, kayak, insect net, and your sense of adventure, Meet at Millers River Environmental Center, at 9:00 or Hardwick Common on Route 32A at 9:45. e-mail for details as we approach  Dave@dhsmall.net

Saturday June 7. Introduction to watching Dragonflies and Damselflies  9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. One day workshop. Dave Small will start the day at The Center with an informative lecture. Then we will head to the river to use the skills from the workshop to identify local dragonflies and damselflies. Be prepared to wade in shallow water. Bring lunch, insect net (if you have one), and sense of adventure. Register with Dave at dave@dhsmall.net or call 978-413-1772. Donation: members $5:00, non-members $10.00

Sunday August 3. Quabbin Butterflies and Dragonflies 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Join Dave Small as we explore Quabbin's wetlands and water courses for summer butterflies and dragonflies. Bring your lunch, insect net, and your sense of adventure, Meet at Millers River Environmental Center, 100 Main Street, Athol, MA. Pre-registration is requested. Dave@dhsmall.net

Saturday September 6.  Millers River Odes. 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Join leader Dave Small as we search for Stylurids, Rubyspots and other late season dragonflies and damselflies on the Millers River. Meet at 9:00 AM at the Millers River Environmental Center, 100 Main Street, Athol. Be prepared to wade in shallow water and have a lot of fun! Dave Small dave@dhsmall.net
